ONE BIG, BEAUTIFULLY SHARED SUMMER

Our party.
Made by all of us.

Some of us know these places from years ago. For others, especially the children, it’ll be a first visit. Let’s come together, share a few old stories and make new memories.

Simon, Elizabeth, Julie and Andrew are opening the doors for three weeks in the French countryside. Pop in for a day, bring the family for a few nights, or settle in a little longer. There’s no big compulsory weekend and no need to be there for it all.

This is OUR party. We’ll all bring something to it: a hand with dinner, an idea for a day out, a favourite recipe, or simply good company. Come and go, explore with your family, and help make these three weeks ours.

PACK LIGHT. BRING YOURSELF.

A few things
before you come.

No strict itinerary. No formal check-in. Just a few useful things to make settling in easier.

What are the houses like?

Both houses are works in progress, but they’re dry, clean and have all the facilities you need, including washing machines. Think lived-in family homes for our shared gathering.

What should we know about the grounds and animals?

Bring shoes for the garden and grounds. Sweet chestnut prickles can be sharp underfoot. We have cats and free-roaming chickens, and the horses, sheep, cows and donkeys belong to our neighbours. Please respect the animals and their space.

Are there bikes to borrow?

We have around six or seven bikes. Ask us about borrowing one and we’ll help work out what’s available and suitable for you.

What’s the plan for food?

Shared meals, whenever you fancy joining in. Help cooking and clearing up is very welcome. You’re equally welcome to head out with your family and eat elsewhere. There’s no obligation. Tell us about dietary requirements and allergies when you RSVP.

What should we bring?

Bedding and towels where possible. If baggage allowances make that tricky, let us know and we’ll work it out. Campers should ideally bring their own tent, although a few loan tents are available on request.

What facilities are there?

Each house has two toilets, an indoor shower and a washing machine. An outdoor shower and outdoor cooking facilities are also available. The main house has Wi-Fi across the site; Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche has Wi-Fi inside the house. Camping electricity is limited and needs arranging beforehand.

Can we bring the dog?

Yes! Dogs are welcome, but we have free-roaming chickens and cats, so visiting dogs must be safe around them and must not chase or disturb them. Please supervise your dog around our animals, children, other dogs and shared spaces.

How do we get between the houses?

The main house is the main hub in Jumilhac-le-Grand. Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche is about 10 minutes away by car. There’s no public transport between the houses. Please arrange directions directly with the hosts.

Can we just come for the day?

Absolutely. Day visits are part of the plan. You’ll be able to RSVP without booking somewhere to sleep, and join for whichever dates suit you between 8 and 28 August.

How will bed bookings work?

Request your dates and location; we’ll allocate rooms and caravans when approving. There’s no maximum stay. Unavailable dates will be marked without showing names. If a bed opens up, the first suitable group on the waiting list will have 48 hours to accept.
